I love Hyderabad. And what I love it is not limited to Charminar or the old city or the famous Hi-Tech City and it goes beyond in the homes, culture and traditions of Hyderabadi families. It’s the famous Hyderabadi Shadi.

A traditional wedding lasts for about a week and 4-5 events in it. The first one is of course the Mehndi ceremony, the second is the actual wedding day, then the reception held by the groom’s side. The remaining events might include reception from bride’s side, get together, etc.

Yes, I know you might be feeling that these events across India but believe me, I have hardly seen people from other states welcome and take care of the guests as well as these Hyderabadi’s do.

I mean, just like their language, their way of speaking Urdu, their hosting is also extremely unique and amazing. Unlike other parts of the country, Hyderabadi people are extremely relaxed and Nawabi in their culture.

The moment you enter the wedding venue, you’d get the sense of rich culture that Nizams have left upon the state. From Hookah’s to Biryani, the guests are served with every great cuisine that they would love.

An ideal of example of a great Hyderabadi wedding is the marriage of Sania Mirza and Shoeb Malik. Sania Mirza is a famous Tennis star and Shoeb Malik is a Pakistani cricketer. Since this was the home-town of Sania, her parents took care of every detail for the wedding and made it a grand Hyderabadi affair.
